Getting Started
Introduction
Welcome to the ThinkMetal Wiki — the official documentation hub for ThinkMetal Private Limited's end-to-end indigenous metal additive manufacturing ecosystem. This wiki covers everything you need to design, print, and post-process high-strength metal parts.
ThinkMetal redefines metal manufacturing with Metal Fused Additive Manufacturing (MFAM) technology, proprietary materials, and one-click software, all engineered for next-generation production environments.
Quick Start
Get your first metal part produced in three simple stages — Think, Deposit, and Sinter.
- 1Think — Design your part in any standard CAD software and export it as an STL or STEP file.
- 2Deposit — Load the file into Thinkware, slice it with one click, and start the print on the SistemT1 unit.
- 3Sinter — Run the debinding and sintering cycle to achieve full metal strength.
Ecosystem Overview
The ThinkMetal ecosystem is built around three tightly integrated pillars that work together to deliver fast, cost-effective metal production.
- SistemT1 — A compact industrial metal AM unit with unparalleled speed and reliability.
- FuseX Materials — Proprietary wound metal feedstock that makes the process fast and hassle-free.
- Thinkware — Intuitive, one-click software for the entire production workflow.
MFAM Technology
What is MFAM?
MFAM (Metal Fused Additive Manufacturing) is a cost-effective and rapid metal manufacturing process that uses wound metal feedstock to manufacture parts layer by layer. The manufactured parts are then debound and sintered to achieve full metal strength.
It enables safe handling, complex geometries, and functional metal components for aerospace, automotive, and industrial applications — producing parts up to 10x faster than traditional methods.
Think, Deposit, Sinter
Every part follows the same three-stage journey from idea to functional metal component.
- Think (Design & Prepare) — Create your design using standard CAD software. The system automatically generates optimal manufacturing parameters.
- Deposit (MFAM Printing) — Rapidly produce high-fidelity metal parts with exceptional resolution and accuracy in a single click.
- Sinter (Post-processing) — A high-temperature furnace removes binder and fuses metal particles into a solid, functional part.
Applications
MFAM is suited to demanding industries that require strong, complex, and reliable metal parts.
- Aerospace — lightweight brackets, ducts, and complex internal geometries.
- Automotive — prototype and low-volume production components.
- Industrial — jigs, fixtures, tooling, and functional end-use parts.
SistemT1 Unit
Overview
SistemT1 is our compact AM unit that uses MFAM technology to produce metal parts 10x faster than traditional methods at half the cost. It is precision-built for reliability, scalability, and real-world production.
Specifications
Key characteristics of the SistemT1 industrial unit.
- Compact footprint designed for the factory floor.
- High-speed deposition for rapid throughput.
- Seamless performance with a sleek, modern design.
- Compatible with the full FuseX material library.
Setup & Installation
Setting up your SistemT1 unit is straightforward with guided onboarding from the ThinkMetal team.
- 1Position the unit on a stable, level surface with adequate ventilation.
- 2Connect power and network, then launch Thinkware.
- 3Load your chosen FuseX feedstock spool.

FuseX Materials
Material Library
The FuseX material library includes a growing range of proprietary metal feedstocks engineered for the MFAM process.
- Stainless Steel 316L — excellent corrosion resistance and ductility.
- Stainless Steel 17-4PH — high strength and hardness for demanding parts.
- Pure Copper — superior thermal and electrical conductivity.
Handling & Storage
FuseX wound feedstock is designed for safe handling — there is no loose metal powder involved, which dramatically improves workplace safety.
- Store spools in a dry environment away from direct sunlight.
- Keep feedstock sealed when not in use to avoid contamination.
- Handle with standard PPE; no specialized powder-handling equipment required.
Thinkware Software
One-Click Workflow
Thinkware enables metal production in just one click. It is an intuitive and user-friendly application with advanced, futuristic features that streamline the entire manufacturing workflow from design to production.
Slicing & Parameters
Thinkware automatically generates optimal manufacturing parameters based on your geometry and chosen material, so you spend less time tuning settings.
- Automatic parameter selection per material and part geometry.
- Real-time print preview and time estimates.
- Built-in sinter compensation for dimensional accuracy.
